Teen Partial Hospitalization Program

The Balance Between Home and Healing

Innova Mercy’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP for short) can provide a deeper level of care ideal for teenagers who want intensive therapeutic support in the day and then return home at home. PHP treatment is ideal for many teenagers who are worried about being away from their family and home.

What Innova Mercy’s Partial Hospitalization Program Treats

Teens who join our PHP treatment are put in appropriate groups proven to treat the various symptoms of trauma, abuse, and post-traumatic stress disorder. These would include depression, anxiety, and relationship problems. A few of the group modalities offered in our PHP therapy include Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Shame Resilience.

The therapies we offer will give your teens the skills needed to navigate life’s many difficulties, both in the past and present. We teach these skills easy and engaging ways for teenagers to understand and pick up. We also do our best to uncover the causes of your teens’ struggles so the issues can be taken care of at the root and not just at the surface level.

Your Teen and PHP Treatment

When your teen is ready to begin, they will first have a formal evaluation with a mental health professional. This is to determine what program, or programs, will be ideal for their recovery. Innova Mercy’s Partial Hospitalization Program will be recommended if your teen is:

  • Not at risk of hurting themselves or those around them
  • Getting plenty of family support at home
  • Feeling inspired to join in the treatment
  • Experiencing mental health disorders
  • Having difficulty attending school

PHP offers the best level of care for teens who want to heal but still want to be home with their families or go and see their friends.

What is the Duration of PHP?

The exact time frame for your teen’s PHP treatment will depend mostly on their progress. They may be in the program for a few weeks or months. No matter the duration, teens should never feel deterred by, or afraid of, the time they need to spend in therapy. Each teen’s journey toward mental health recovery is special and unique.
